What: The Annual Youth Career Fest, by the Youth and Family Services/Initiatives Office, is a career exploration event for Austin area high school students hosted by the Austin Youth Council. The Austin Youth Council is a group of high school students who represent the voice of youth in local government by learning about city government and meeting with policymakers and administrators.
In 2014, the Austin Youth Council created this event to ensure that their high school peers who were transitioning into the workforce and/or higher education would be offered helpful information in order to make sound career decisions.
