【亚太联盟孩子群】APAPA TX Youth Chapter
The APAPA Texas Youth Chapter is up and running! Having been established since September 2017 these kids have grown into community leaders that have great futures ahead of them. Since their founding, the Youth Chapter has conducted many community service events and a large scale fundraising projects.
亚太联盟孩子群在去年的9月份就正式建立了！这些孩子们的成长真是很惊人！从他们建立了的那天起就举办了很慈善活动。
About the Youth
The Youth Chapters mission is to promote and empower Asian Pacific Islander youth in their communities through awareness of public affairs, leadership development, and civic engagement. Through this, they hope to inspire, engage, and empower their diverse membership about public policy and foster future leaders from minority communities to become involved in the different levels of government.
我们组织的宗旨是促进和鼓励亚裔青少年的成长，培养他们对于社会问题的意识、领导力和责任感。通过我们这个团体，他们背负自己的多元文化积极在社区和社会承担未来的领导责任，代表自己的少数群体参与政府、参与政治。
The Youth Chapter has five officers. Currently the group is lead by President Lucy Xu, Vice President Richard Lai, Secretary Celina Pan, Treasurer Baekkie Ma, and Technology Chair Xuechen Yin. These five youth have worked together to build the APAPA Youth Chapter into the strong and coherent organization is today. They help lead and organize events, as well as encourage members to be active leaders in their communities.

Projects
The youth are currently conducting a large scale baking project to help fundraise for refugees and cancer patients in the Austin community. Baking took place at one of the members’ houses and although they planned as much as they thought they could, there were many obstacles that the youth didn’t account for and had to resolve on the spot. A total of twenty members attended the event, and everyone began unsure of what to do, but as officers directed groups to each part of the product making process, all twenty members found their rhythm and efficiently produced high-quality cookies and brownies.
孩子们正在进行一个大型的慈善活动。他们自己烤饼干到各地区买。赚来的钱钻给难民和癌症患者。总共有20位成员来烤饼干。开始谁也不知道该干什么，但在负责人的领导下他们很快就布置好了任务，掌握了烤饼干的节奏。
The product idea for fundraising was to bake cookies and brownies, each which would receive their own plastic bag, decorated with a hand-made sticker and topped off with a ribbon. After the baking process, members went out in their respective communities to sell their freshly made baked goods. Through this, they learned to overcome the social anxiety of door knocking and gained a useful new skill. In addition to raising awareness for pertinent issues in the community, the bake sale also allowed members to forge stronger bonds among themselves. Currently the youth have raised $830 and are hoping to reach their $1000 goal soon.
他们做出来的饼干将被塑料袋蒙上，然后用彩绳系上蝴蝶结，再贴上个写着‘谢谢’的小纸贴。他们做完了之后在自己的小区里买。这锻炼了他们的耐心和毅力，也让他们感到更亲近。现在孩子们以赚了￥830，希望他们能够达到他们预测的￥1000.
Current Events Discussion
Every month, the youth gather at a predetermined location to talk and discuss about pertinent issues and events in their local, national, and global communities. Usually in a casual setting, surrounded by a plentiful supply of snacks, the youth feel comfortable in sharing their opinions and thoughts with each other. The accepting environment and sometimes conflicting viewpoints serves to teach the youth to be confident in their opinions, but to also be open minded and understanding of others viewpoints. The discussion usually ends with the officers updating the group on next month’s game plan, and upcoming events and meetings.
每个月，这些年轻人们在一个事先决定好的地点聚会讨论发生在他们身边的或是国内国外的实事。这些讨论一般发生在一个轻松的环境，有零食提供，让孩子们自信的发表和分享他们的看法。讨论氛围十分包容，但偶尔的对立观点和争论也教导大家要互相尊重与理解。每次讨论的最后，负责人们会通知大家下次聚会讨论的安排和即将到来的活动。
Membership
The youth have currently been trying to expand their membership past the Westlake, Westwood, and Vandegrift communities (where the majority of members are from). They have been promoting their membership and events through Facebook and Instagram.
